PBS is doing better than Pacifica in the children's programming department. Also there are not shows specifically aimed at young adults/teens on KPFT. I don't know about other stations. PBS has Sesame Street, while they have commercial toy tie-ins I learned alot from that show as a kid. Sorry to jump in this conversation when you were bitching at Nalini. I also like PBS because they aired the documentary West 47th street, I think that is the name. I did not get to see it because no PBS stations come in clear where I live. I am in Jackson, MIchigan without cable and both the Lansing and Detroit PBS are scrambled and fuzzy on my tv. I like NPR because they have the show Infinite Mind which is about mental health. I also enjoyed the Todd Mundt show when it was on. Todd Mundt comes out of Ann Arbor, Michigan where I lived for four years. There is alot of stuff I can't hear on Pacifica that I can hear on PBS and NPR. There should be a kid show on Pacifica that don't talk politics shit. Your parents, even if they are "progressive" should not force their politics on you. You are trying to mold a puppet and you may end up with a person who rebels against you like Alex on the 80's tv show Family Ties. The show could be about science, math, writing.....some actual happy dappy fun shit. It could almost be corny like the Teletubbies or Mister Rogers. Then you could put a decent mental health show on later that week. Not with pop psychologists and crap. If you have to... get one of those but have the cohost who is a real damn doctor that keeps up on all the laws and medical issues surrounding mental health. What I hear from Armand DiMiele is not a real mental health show on WBAI. I could probably call that dude up and ask him about committment laws and he wouldn't know. I could ask him about mental health courts or the new implant they are making for haloperidol for schizophrenia that could last a year in your system.
