[NewPacifica] 9-11 and Pacifica

Evan, I respectfully disagree. What happened on 9-11 is THE defining
ideological event of these times. While all other ills of
capitalist society would go on regardless, it is the manipulation of 9-11
and the orchestration of hysteria/the manipulation of fears
that has allowed the Nazi regime that has taken over the federal government
to smash resistance to all of the everyday working class
concerns (let alone US global policy), with a new 9-11 in the works in time
for the next (s)elections.

No reporter needs to promote any particular theory. What they have to do is
allow proponents of those theories -- and frankly I
consider the official government position on 9-11 to be the MOST
far-fetched, ridiculous theory of what happened on that day -- to
air their views in depth, and have others debate them on air, with more
rigorous regard to fairness (via control of the microphoones)
than was evident during th Dershowitz/Finkelstein program.

Premilla Dixit has played an extremely important role in bringing some of
these challenges to the official story to WBAI, with the
organizing of the 4-day teach-in at Riverside Church a few weeks ago. Some
of the analysis, especially that of Wayne Madsen, is
extremely well-researched, and can be found at Counterpunch.org. At the
very least, a link should be put on WBAI.org to Madsen's
columns, and a regular feature on 9-11 -- maybe one DN show per week --
could dedicate itself to present these voices that are being
suppressed.

The fight to achieve listener elections to station boards with authority to
review programming decisions is, for many of us, a fight to
have these diverse voices heard on the air.
