These elections are for BOARD MEMBERS, not managerial positions. They are not executives and do not require managerial skills, but rather policy-making skills. People with managerial or business skill can be hired for the appropriate positions. There are indeed faults in the packet. It was produced under severe time-pressure, due to the court order that started the nomination period on the same day (Sept. 15) as the order. Nobody was ready, and we're all trying to catch up. I laud the elections supervisors for doing a hard job under extreme time pressure. I also suggest that the packet be changed to include several copies of the last page, so that there is enough room for the signatures needed. Requiring people to do photocopies, while it would save Pacifica a little bit of money, is not worthwhile, as it may confuse potential candidates and complicate the process. --Michael ------------------------ Yahoo!
