LaForest wants to waste a tens of $thousands more?

Ray's latest motion from the iPNB phone conference, from
http://www.wbai.net/bylaws_revise/br_ipnb_min9-2-03.html:

4. The 24 participants in the Chicago meeting will be invited (and
their transportation subsidized, if needed) to participate in a
portion of the Sept. 19-21 iPNB meeting in New York City dealing with
bylaws.
Pacifica's keeping it quiet, but the numbers I've hard are anywhere
from $10,000-$20,000 to fly these 24 partipants to the LAST mediation
session that accomplished nothing. Now, if you're one of the
participants who get's rewarded with ANOTHER paid vacation if you
DON'T accomplish anything, my guess is they'll have mediations every
couple weeks, touring the country. My suggestion is a four corners
run: Maine, Key West, San Diego, then Seattle.

5. At the iPNB's Sept. 19-21 NYC meeting, the Chicago participants
will have a facilitated discussion to complete the process of
reaching specific agreements on compromise by-laws language.
So -- have ANOTHER Diversity Language Committee, that wasted
thousands and failed to write anything, and SPECIFICALLY failed in
that Ray promised to get TWO legal opinions ON RECORD (not
hearsay)... he didn't do that, WHY?

6. At that meeting, the iPNB will appoint a committee, including LAB
members, to write the final bylaws language, and the attorney(s)
recommended at the Chicago meeting will be invited to assist in this
process.
Ah... ANOTHER Diversity Language Committee... where's the language
they were supposed to write, and where's the language this 3-person
committee that Ray is a part of that came out of the mediation?
The mediation wrap-up notes of 08/23/03 at

a) A committee of 3 people was set up to take up the next step in the
work we started in Chicago: Joe Wanzala, Lydia Brazon and Ray
LaForest.
b) This committee will develop a proposal on the items we did not yet
reach agreement on, and will circulate that back to all of us. This
is supposed to happen within the next 2 to 3 days.
Let's see: 8/23 plus 3 days = 8/26, it's now 9/4, so WHERE THE HELL
are these proposals? Ray's demonstrated contempt on this process
hardly deserves to be REWARDED with another $10,000-$20,000 of
listener money wasted, does it? He has failed to produce the legal
opinions, and he's failed to produce what he promised to produce at
the mediation, therefore he is a failure in this process and this
3-person committee has shown they are either unwilling or unable to
function.
This is AT LEAST the third strike for LaForest on bylaws, why throw
MORE money down this sinkhole? $10,000 buys quite a bit of gear to do
FUCKING RADIO! Anyone remember that?

7. The iPNB will then determine at that meeting an expeditious
schedule for elections to the Local Station Boards and Pacifica
National Board."
So, have another round of meetings and paid vacations where the
obstructors like Ray can make MORE promises they'll fail to keep?
RUMSFELD is laughing at this plan of action, his pre-planning for
Iraq was more substantial.
