Please recall that under the previous management Pacifica Network
News was going more and more in the direction of "rip-and-read". It was
not emulating NPR, it was getting worse and worse.
Free Speech Radio News does do stories that include perspectives
that NPR doesn't, so in some ways it's occasionally better, but what NPR
does well it does well. The goal for Pacifica should not be to emulate
but to surpass by means of specializing in in-depth analytical and
honest reporting and covering the stories others don't - or at least
getting there ( as in Tulia, Texas) long before anyone else.
