It's only gotten sneakier. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Hi, Lorraine. Hi, Altaf. Long time I've been gone. And late coming to this discussion, tho I've read a lot of the back posting. As far as religion, human rights, sovereignty, etc. are concerned, I think the U.N. Charter on Human Rights, (with its' subsequent charters on women, children,) provides a good guide on which to base what I should oppose or not oppose in the conduct of other nations. It was voted on by representatives of all nations, so isn't just U.S. imperialistic ideas. (although some of those nation states oppress their minorities and some states no longer exist. Certainly the world scene has changed since WWII.) The Koran and the U.N. Charters seem quite compatible to me and I believe provide a base for discussion of implementation, which is where I think the real disagreements come up. Of course, all involved should have read both the Koran in its' entirety and the charters. How do you feel about that? Camilla Cracchiolo Los Angeles, California ------------------------ Yahoo!
