Title: support for student in
Pennsylvania
One of my (best writing) students, Jason Robbins, is in court for
something he did not do, and needs financial support. I am
forwarding his message, with links to a website that explains the
case, but in brief, he was sitting in a van two blocks away from an
LGBT march in Chester, Pennsylvania a few months ago when he was
arrested. If you know Chester, PA, you know the problem.
Any token amount would be very helpful, and much appreciated:
Jason has a court date, had to hire a private attorney as the CLU
takes only cases involving brutality or freedom of speech. The
family does not have the means to pay for this help, so is asking for
some support. The case is significant for several reasons, and
the case against police brutality and bias against the LGBT community
is important.
*******PLEASE FORWARD
WIDELY*******
Dear Friends,
Jason is still in need of money to pay his legal fees. As of April
30,
he is looking at a court date as early as the end of May. He still
needs to raise $5,600. Please forward this widely and ask everyone
you
know. Just think if we could find 1,000 people to send only $5, or
even 500 people to send $10, we'd almost be there!
Jason's lawyer and investigator have both expressed confidence in
winning this case, all Jason needs now is the money to pay them.
Please support LGBT rights, freedom of speech, and show your
opposition to police brutality, and help out a brother in need.
Remember you can Paypal from a checking account to
supportjason@xxxxxxxxx, or credit card donations can be
Paypal'd to
arastore@xxxxxxxxxxx. Please email once you donate so
we know to look
out for it. If you would prefer to send a check or money order,
just
email
supportjason@xxxxxxxxx for the address.
It's time to return the solidarity Jason has shown to the LGBT
community here in Philadelphia, and worldwide.
In Solidarity,

In December of 2005, Jason Robbins was attacked by and illegally
arrested by police at a peaceful LGBT rights demonstration. He is
being charged with a felony and several misdemeanors that carry a
maximum sentence of 30 years in prison. Jason is innocent of any
criminal activity and needs our help to prove it.
*****PLEASE FORWARD WIDELY****
