It seems a bit like the JUC faction in NY+WPFW vs LA+Houston with the
leadership (Officers and ExDir) siding with JUC because the JUC folks
manage to toss out words like "ethics" and "progressive" and "morality"
appealing to the image of being crusaders. I don't know the motive.
All I can say is that the vote to not allow Carolyn's email to be read
was one of the most mean-spirited and below the belt things I've seen.
These people have spent years on the Pacifica boards....they don't have
10 minutes to read something their own collegue mailed them two days
ago? That's sheer bullshit.

Poor preparedness was evident at many times and I blame everyone. For
those who were unprepared, that's they fault. For those who didn't
take some headcounts and make sure to get enough people there, that's
their fault. Bob L.'s bomb about the note to the PNB 5 minutes before
the meeting is definately a horrible way to launch into a meeting, in
total WAR mode, and of course he and the JUC in NY are directly to
blame for that. Carolyn's email not being forwarded and presented
within the agenda, that seems to be a problem with the chair/scty
functions. Almost no one on the board had the text of Rob's new
version. Dan could have clarified a lot with an email to everyone
explaining why the first draft had been changed and that could have
avoided a lot of confusion. The coordinating committee should have
circulated the revised motion, with their explanations.
The "condemnation" of recordings motion was sprung on the board,
without any context.

Sherry, I think, made a joke at the end (ha ha ha) about how tonights
meeting could result in several lawsuits. (ha ha ha.)

Leadership is what is missing. Not just at the meeting itself, but in
the prep. This is not a group that is working together yet. Not by a
long shot.
