[NewPacifica] Re: FWD: SUPPORT LISA DAVIS

Title: [NewPacifica] Re: FWD: SUPPORT LISA DAVIS
Right on target, Frank.

In 1999, Patty was the lone voice sounding the alarm against the board's proposed takeover of WBAI and KPFA, for sale and personal profit.  Quite simply she is, as one long-time producer pronounced, a treasure.  Many of us, myself included, are here because Patty saw the danger, sounded the alarm, and took the trouble to educate us about what's goin' on.  We are still learning, she is still ahead of the curve, and the wolf pack is getting more and more vicious as they struggle to take down the greatest threat to their attempts at a new hijacking.  Follow the money, as the _expression_ goes, and you will understand what is going on.

Who knew that demanding "transparency and accountability" was such a dangerous job?

That's just a small part of it.  Yes, they're happy to remove or
dumb-down directors who don't vote according to JUC instructions,
but there's something more important here.  This is where it's at:

R. Paul Martin" <rpm@...>: "...Patty Heffley is being targeted
because she's rocking the Pacifica irresponsibility boat by looking
into things past and present. Perhaps this campaign to smear her
means that she's found something..."

She's not just any old non-JUC vote, she's one of the directors who
underatands fiduciary responsibility (and individual legal
liability), one of the directrs who took the initiative and had the
guts to fight both National office (Lonnie & Dan) and their fellow-
directors to exercise a fundamental right of directors: to see the
records of operations they are ultimately (legally) responsible for.

She's not just "non-clique", she's dangerous.  Dangerous to the
status quo, a danger to all the little deals from local to national.

HMmmm...  There were three of them on the PNB, weren't there?
Wendy, LaVarn, Patty...  Now there are two?  And if JUC succeeds in
their demagoguery and The Big Lie, just one?

Do you think this will encourage or discourage efforts to achieve
fiscal transparency and accountability in Pacifica?  How many people
will be willing to expose themselves to such attacks even to the
extent of standing for election to LSBs, let alone to the PNB; or to
do anything that might rock the boat if they do get to
the "airplanes, meals, hotels" of PNB status?
