Nevertheless, other than the 'progressively' irrelevent programming content such as (The Aware Show on KPFK) the cause of the problem is the inflated budgets which have COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY CHANGED THE CHARACTER OF PACIFICA'S STATIONS AND OPERATIONS! It's now got corporate bloat written all over it, but that's not all. Does anyone remember KPFK and the Pleasure Faire ripoff. Can't remember the name of the GM at that time but she sort of realized that a lot of dough could be made off that great idea. HMMM, that sounds like what's going on now. Lisa Garr who is the host of KPFK's The Aware Show has moved up the corporate ladder to KTLK 1150 AM radio in LA with the same show...thanks to KPFK listener-sponsor contributions, Lisa (I'm so mellow) Garr can now move on to even bigger and more proffitable media exposure. The new pacifica, new age, new profiteering. Sort of like Democracy Now. What a success story that is. There's more! Due to greatly expanded budgets and all kinds of expenses for out of court settlements, 'upgrades', 'improvements', move to Wall Street, cushy perks, outrageous PNB meeting accomodations (How does the Madison Hotel in DC sound to you?), more paid staff at Pacifica, the totally useless Verna Avery Brown's rip the news and read outrage foisted on Pacifica's stations. What is it that she knows that gives her the clout to leverage her position in Pacifica's staff budget? Verna Avery Brown is not a reporter, she's not even a decent news anchor. It makes me sick every time I hear that shit. What a fucking utter waste of Pacifica's resources. One thing for certain, five Development Directors should be immediately fired and the positions removed from station staff directories. What a waste of listener-funds. We don't need any development directors at Pacifica and its stations. But more than all of that (and there is more), how does embezzlement at the national executive staff and PNB level sound? Or, how about kickbacks for services and contracts? Could it be that these are the kinds of skeletons that Dan Siegel, Dave Adelson, Rob Robinson, Sherry Gendelman and now Nicole Sawaya are keeping tightly locked but still rattling behind the Pacifica closet of corruption? Could it be this is part of the reason the financial transparency demanded under California Corporate code is being ignored? Could it be that all risk being held legally accountable if any of those bones manage to shake their way from the dank and dusty closet?
