[NewPacifica] Re: Reality Check and my version of "Reality" cannot be CHANGED

Melinda is right again. Voting is all that we can do - nothing else can be
done. And we cannot CHANGE that. It is who we vote for or do nothing. And we
have to vote for one of the candidates put forward by the establishment as our
only choices - either Twiddle Dee Dee or Twiddle Dee Dum.
Or we could start a radio network that put out an "alternative" viewpoint
and an alternative method of organizing against the problems of the country and
the world, Nah - that would not be possible - If we established such an
alternative network some of the "activists" would just want to "Save" it and
CHANGE it back to being a voice of the establishment and a Twiddle Dee Dee or
Twiddle Dee Dum network.
Gee now CHANGE looks just like the usual Twiddle Dee Dee or Twiddle Dee Dum
 choices does it not?

Great. So who are you proposing....Peter Parker or Clark Kent?

You can always vote for John McCain, a man who rubber stamps
95% of the time. It's your choice. ust rmember his promise that "we are going
to have more wars".I am choosing a person who is trying to address the problems
of campaign reform
by funding his campaign by over a million small contributions of citizens not
lobbyist.

You could also just sit back and do nothing . That wouldn't in any way
address our
  huge problems. It's your perrogitive.

Even if we agreed that an enthusiastic and positive outlook is
crucial, it doesn't mean we can't chose to extend our enthusiasms to
something other than Obama. There are many other causes, movements,
processes we might prefer. If Obama has not even yet gotten in the
White House and has already compromised on Palestinian rights, wiretap
immunity, and withdrawing from Iraq, some caring people might decide
to save their enthusiasm for something else. It is true that the
cause of a Presidential candidate has a unique appeal, being that she
/ he is supposed to be the most powerful person in the world. But
just like any other cause, our individual influence on presidential
politics is infinitesimal. In the end, we choose the causes that make
the most sense to us, and hopefully support other to do so for
    themselves.

    peace,
    Nick
