Folks,Why have Pacifica, gone down the tube of commercialism and in the shape it's in today.And why do only one person in Pacifica, have total control over there programming and it's content ? [ Amy Goodman } When all producers and programmers in Pacifica had the same power at one time and what can be done about this ?What Pacifica, and Wpfw needs to do is Shape Public Opinion to have the US Congress look into the loss of individual broadcast FCC license holders Shared Responsibility with Owners of Radio Stations to the FCC for Programming and it's Content, when signed on to a station operation log.The individual FCC Broadcast License holders being always the first line defence for Pacifica, to the Government we got the best audio archive in the world and some things can't be played on radio today UNCENSORED.It was in the late 80s early 90s when Free Speech, Localism and Control over Programming and it's Content was taken out of the hands of the American People, that held a FCC Broadcast Licenses.I think this is what got Pacifica, to this point today in the dumbing down of the American People that is said, to own the public air waves.What most American People don't understand is the US Congress and the FCC gave total control over programming and it's content to a few corporation and owners of radio stations in order to Shape Public Opinion and not to the individual local broadcaster.Under the Communication Act of 1934 radio stations was licensed to do two things, act as a navigational system for aircraft and provide in case of an Emergency Local Mass Communications.And with today's tech, I understand why radio stations are not used for aircraft navigation anymore.But I will always remember right to this day while I was serving in the military as part of the crew on a Navy P2V Aircraft lighting struck our trailing wire antenna and we lost all communication flying of Bermuda and we had to use the radio signal of WWVA a Radio Station in Wheeling, WVA in order to get back to the Good Ole USA. I have been reading a lot about the Sirius merger with XM Radio but who gives a dam when Local Control of a Terrestrial Emergency Mass Communication Outlet, Radio Station is the real issue for the American People, remember Katrina and whats going on in the mid west now.I'M so sorry that folks now in Management Positions and Control of Pacifica/Wpfw air waves, as Volunteer Leaders at the station in the late 80s and early 90s missed the boat then and is still missing the boat now on this issue.They have the Power to Shape Public Opinion in the belly of the beast that could give Power Back to the American People that made Pacifica/Wpfw Great Radio. />>Peace and Love.A life time student of Mass Communication and a DC Hacker/Taxicab Owner/Driver over 40 years.>> Billy Ray Edwards _________________________________________________________________ The i’m Talkathon starts 6/24/08.
