If the morning show at KPFA was "flagship" maybe i'd not complain... but it most often sounds like NPR --- i've given examples b/4 on this list... actually it was for 7:00 A.M. not 8:00... in anycase, the move was approved by the local board, and program council --- but was stopped because of internal issues... that i mentioned earlier... The point I was trying to make is --- who exactly has the power at this stations? If the local board that are elected (remember democracy?) cannot make these decisions, then who does...? And if the local board does not have this authority... then what is the point of having a station board in the first place? Or, "democracy" for that matter... If I want to see changes at the station --- who do i "lobby" Philip Maldory? do i have to go talk with each of the programmers? that is just plain absurd --- that is why we struggled for elected boards - that could make such decisions - instead of individuals with their individual powers.
