Because I have met the webmaster at KPFT and know her name is not Pete.

When I partner was working for United Way, and Spaulding for Children,
and The Cultural Arts Council, when a board of director asked him to
for something he was obligated to provide it. Why is the Pacifica Foundation
so poorly run that the employees run amok?

And you are quick to defend the undefendable with very little else.

Oh it is, Terry. I've worked in IT on and off since 1994. Keep in mind
that the basic setup of all seven websites are already scripted and do
not change all that often. The webmaster can add and subtract text
easily without having to change any major parameters. As a matter
of fact, you can add and subtract meeting minutes, considering how
few there have been, in just a few seconds.
At first you said Pete was the webmaster and now you're backspinning
and saying he's one of two Chief Technical Officers. Which is it? What
"technical" is being done at the national office. Are you saying we have
two employees who plug the computers together and make sure the
virus software is up to date?Does an office of say 10 people need even
one CTO? Is Pacifica getting its money's worth? Instead of defending a
lazy "webmaster" you've just put your finger on even more fat that can
be culled from the national office.
Thanks, Terry. In your bid to aid in the destruction of the network you
have just pointed out even more unnecessary fat that can be removed.

Firstly, I don't know what the Foundation's webmaster's actual job
title and job description are. Pete appears to be functioning as
Pacifica CTO even though Jon Almeleh has some similar title. As far
as I've been able to determine, neither is a subordinate to the other,
and I don't know how various responsibilities have been divided except
from the work done.
That said, if any webmaster duties were in Pete's job description when
he was hired, that description probably only referred to the
Pacifica.org site and not the several other sites he has since
launched, and it probably never mentioned governance postings. So, to
answer your question "Why does the Webmaster think it's not a part of
this job function to add the minutes himself?" my guess would be that
it is not in his original job description, that it has never been
added to that job description, and that he has a belief and
understanding that his actual job responsibilities somehow correspond
to those that are in his actual job description.

The ED and CFO report to the PNB. Other National Office employees do
not report to the PNB and Pacifica personnel do not receive their
instructions from the PNB or any LSB or individual Director or
individual LSB Member. No National Office employee has had an
opportunity to demonstrate that they "feel they are above the
directives of the foundation" if they have not received directives
from the ED or CFO that they feel they are above. When you have
evidence that some such directive was sent and received and that some
such "feeling aboveness" was demonstrated, then we can speculate about
why those particular employees may feel something along the lines of
their demonstration.

What makes you think that all non-station Pacifica websites are not
currently administered by Pete Korakis, in addition to his other
technical duties?

I'm sure the various station webmasters will be happy to hear this
appreciation of their work. How many websites are you paid to sit
around doing nothing with? It sounds like a nice gig.
