Tonight on 'Nightline'
Jan. 10, 2006 --
SPY SCANDAL WHISTLEBLOWER
A former intelligence officer at the National Security Agency gives Brian Ross
an inside view of the
agency's secret spying program, and the vast number of Americans surveilled in
its sweep. Russ
Tice, who was fired from the agency last year, says one of the first things he
learned in the NSA
training program is that you "will not spy on Americans." Today he believes the
agency may have
done just that -- illegally. Tice is one of the original sources who blew the
whistle on the secret
program. He now wants to tell his story to Congress. Brian Ross tells it first.
