Some of the names put forward (Myla Reson, for example) are wonderful and honest human beings. But I don't know if they know their way around a radio station. The GM needs to know stuff like FCC regs, how to hire and fire personnel, deal with staff conflicts, understanding of techinical matters like the new transmitter set up, how to deal with the union, etc. Especially important is going to be getting staff to work together and building unity in the organization. Nicole Sawaya comes to mind as a person who meets all these qualifications. I don't know if we could get her to come down here, but I she would be perfect for the job. We might also want to consider some previous GMs of KPFK or other Pacifica stations. > > Re: [NewPacifica] Repost: Pacifica Censor Resigns -- LETS CONSIDER > CANDIDATES FOR A NEW GENERAL MANAGER AT KPFK > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Lunar Tunes > To: onesky > Sent: Wednesday, January 09, 2002 1:34 PM > Subject: Re: [NewPacifica] Repost: Pacifica Censor Resigns -- LETSCONSIDER > CANDIDATES FOR A NEW GENERAL MANAGER AT KPFK > > > The PD of KPFT is great.
