Hi
Loraine,
I
guess you are speaking of the last broadcast? Most of our Pacifica
stations do not carry this show, but I think it has indeed been aired on
KPFK.
Did
they mention that the show would continue with Laura Flanders as host? Is
KPFK going to air it?

Dear
Friends,
You recently received a letter advising you that RadioNation was
going
to have to discontinue syndicating its hour-long program at the end of
this December. We made this decision with great pain--and, we're
delighted to announce, too hastily! Partly as a result of all the
heartfelt notes you sent, we're in the process of devising a plan that
will allow you to continue airing the show indefinitely. So please
don't
give up the time-slot!
We will be continuing to syndicate a 58-minute
show to you each week,
very likely at the same time on the NPR satellite as
we have been
broadcasting. The only difference will be that we'll be sending
you a
revamped program hosted by author, activist and award-winning radio
personality Laura Flanders. You'll still hear incisive interviews with
Nation writers like Naomi Klein, Katrina vanden Heuvel, Jeremy Scahill,
Christian Parenti, Katha Pollitt and many others as well as news and
commentary. In addition, the show will feature Laura's inimitable
ability to cut through the events of the week to make clear how exactly
the news of the day affects us, and what we can do to make a
difference.
Laura would also be delighted to cut individual promos for
any stations that
thought they might be helpful, and when fundraising
time comes around, we'd
like to try to help as well with premiums and
promotion.
We're
thrilled to have Laura as the new RadioNation host and I think
your
listeners will be as well. As I said, we're still working out some
last
logistical details for how the show will be syndicated but I
should be able
to outline all this for you within the next week. In the
meantime, please
feel free to email or call me at 212-209-5425 if you
have any questions at
all.
Many thanks for your support of
RadioNation!
Sincerely,
Peter Rothberg, The Nation
well we can finally say goog bye and good riddence
to
Marc Cooper's "Radio Nation." The difference here is
that Cooper was
given the opportunity to say good bye
to his audience, and even tell them
where they can
continue to listen to him, unlike the over 100
programs
that were among the abruptly-disappeared on
kpfk.
