[NewPacifica] glad to be 'wrong'?

Hello all you bright and shiny full of Hope-Obama Pacifica listener-sponsors
(and would-be listener-sponsors).

Pacifica's stations, KPFK specifically, has recently become "Powered By The
People"!! What a load of crap that statement is. Years ago KPFK got rid of
that dangerous notion, "Listener-Sponsored", and even "Listener-Supported" was
too threatening. That goes along with the notion that the network may actually
exist for and serve the listeners. Well, we all know that's not true...at least
now most of us finally know.

And most of us know pretty much that the transformation of Pacifica's content
into the mainstream has finally been realized. Just in the nick of time for
Obama to be elected, right? Thank God, brothers and sisters.

Yes, I was wrong in my guess that Romney would be McCain's running mate.
Although it was clear the Bush gang was trying to the very end, or was that
simply a stick and carrot operation to manipulate Republicans? But is there
really a carrot now to put McCain over the top? In the land of wholesale (yes,
I said wholesale) election rigging. You betcha!

I shouldn't be surprised that the not very well educated Alaskan spouse of an
oil driling man who has been advanced politically because she advocates
drilling into the Alaskan wilderness would be brought to McCain. And of course,
stupid is good. Bush is/was "stupid". Stupid is very good. Can't argue with
success.

The question is will this be the signal for the election to be rigged for
McCain? Not likely, in my opinion, as I was convinced the Bush gang's dream
President to follow the punk mother fucker of all time is/would have been Mit
Romney (The SS Zombie From Hell, soon to be made into a Hollywood blockbuster
to follow Tropic Thunder's huge success with the very stupid public and the
critics).

Okay, enough with factual history. Let's get back to utter specualtion,
political fantasy, a little handwringing, and that wonderful fullfilling but
temporary ecstacy (like the first 3-5 lines of coke), "Hope-Obama" (not to soon
replace in the lexicon, "Hope-Eternal". No, we'll have none of that kind of
hope. We 'need' Hope/Obama. Our hope needs to have a REAL man's face on it,
better yet, a tall lanky kind of man, the kind of man that REAL women secretly
long for...to be 'their own' personal President. The kind of man that knows how
to inspire an audience, like a great singer. Think of Marvin Gaye at the
Palladium in Oakland, think Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Smokey Robinson, and many
more.

Isn't that all that this politics is about, really? Isn't it just about how
cool you are and what kind of swagger you have? Isn't that what our culture is
ALL about, really?

And now we have our 'good ole buddy' Joe Biden to help out in Obama's big
program of change we're going to see, thanks to all our good friends in the
Democratic Party that Obama is such good friends with.

Will I cry when (if) I get to see a black man get sworn in as President of this
sad country? Yes, and I will be happy in my heart of hearts. Will I vote for
Obama/Biden? Of course not.

Will I and others like me be blamed if Obama/Biden 'lose' to McCain/What's her
name? Without question.

And of course, just like in 2000 (and even for some, 2004) this lie will be
believed by the "progressives". What a sorry, ignorant but mostly stupid bunch,
these "progressives". I'm wondering what they're actually progressive about. Oh
yeah, I get it. They're a resurgence of the progressive movement after the turn
of the 19th century. Yeah, right. No, the current progressives are actually
liberals who's label got irrevocably burned in the mainstream media when
Dukakis (that phony lying windbag mother fucking traitor) held up his ACLU
card. Do y'all think that wasn't an operation?

In any case, if anyone hasn't had enough of the Pacifica's Bensky coverage of
the "historic" Democratic Convention in Denver (that great bastion of
Democratic Party power), I encourage all list members to log on to kpfk.org and
listen to KPFK's conduit for the national security state's most sophisticated
cheerleading for the status quo of US foreign policy delicately coiffed for the
so-called 'progressives'.

I'm referring to the down under-er, Ian Masters, who normally has two hours
every Sunday to ply his disinformation and ass-kissing ignorance. Yes, Ian is a
must-listen program but not for the reasons he espouses. Ian filled in last
Thursday at 4 pm on KPFK and the show can be heard on kpfk.org audio archives
page. Please listen to this 'deep political analysis' of the Democratic
Convention and other so-called important things. Maybe y'all will realize how
co-opted Pacifica has become. But probably not.

Click on http://archive.kpfk.org/parchive/ and scroll down to Thursday, August
28, 2008, 4:01 pm, "4 O'Clock THursday - Maria Armoudian, Guest host Ian
Masters" with a special edition of his program, Backdoor Greasing. One of Ian's
standout quotes during the program is his characterizing the Democrats as
"Corporate-Lite" as opposed to the Republicans. Just in case you didn't realize
there's a real difference between the parties, now you know for sure. Ian has
cleared up that misunderstanding, and just in time, too.

I wonder how many of Obama's supremely talented campaign managers listened
carefully to Ian's guests advice on this special KPFK program. I have no doubt
at least a few due to Ian's many connections with the powerful and influential
who often use his Sunday program Backdoor Greasing to spout their deeply
informed political expertise (or is it expertitis?)

Btw, if you're expecting to hear on Ian Master's show from last Thursday about
the chances the general elections will be rigged, you'll have to wait until Ian
finally and trivially brings up the possibility on one of his Sunday two hour
Backdoor Greasings.

So much for political reality. Welcome to political fantasy, a la Pacifica's
(and liberal Hollywood's) most listened to national security state servant, Ian
Masters.

JM
