Attention: Vajra Kilgour It has come to my attention that the contact list for LSB members in the Board's official website (wbailsb AT yahoogroups.com) has STILL not been updated, despite repeated requests that the secretary and chair do so. Please provide current (and working) email and telephone addresses for each member of the LSB, as is required. Please send the corrected, updated list to the Secretary of the PNB for the Board's records: she is copied on this message, above. If the secretary is unable or unwilling to provide this information to other members of the LSB, the chair should direct someone else to provide it. The current list, attached and copied below, was posted by Berta Silva in February of 2005. Some people are there who are no longer on the board. Some names of people on the board are missing, and I note that those complaining about not having been contacted by other members are prominent among those complaining. How can LSB members expect to be contacted, by mail or telephone, if they refuse to provide contact information? It is the responsibility of the Secretary and ultimately of the Chair to keep contact information current. If members refuse to provide a working telephone or email or mailing address, they cannot then complain about not having been contacted for official notices. Someone wanting to contact the entire board should not be obliged to ferret out secret contact information about board members, or cull message boards for working emails which in fact may not be the ones read by the member for official information. The board must provide members with the official means of contacting each other. Additionally, elected members must be available to the members of the station: please update this list, and if any information is to be kept private, mark it as "private." However, there must be at least ONE contact item (phone or email) that is the legally provided contact information. and which always works. Members cannot provide a single email address or a telephone number and then claim that no one contacted them about a special meeting (e.g. Lucas), or refuse to provide contact information and claim no one called them (e.g. Roberts), or provide only one item, and then claim they never go the message because that mode was not working (e.g. L.Davis). The list is and has been seriously out of date. You have been asked before to update the list. Members attempting to notify other members of an official meeting or event are under no obligation to search beyond the officially provided list in the official LSB communication site, (wbailsb AT yahoogroups.com), which should contain information given to the Secretary, for missing contact information: rather, it is the responsibility of the board chair to see to the updating of the list. I am copying the PNB Secretary, Mary Berg, and would copy the WBAI chair, Vajra Kilgour, personally except for the fact that there is no email address provided in the list of official contacts, and her email address is truncated in her messages to the list. (I mention this as an example of the problem in contacting members directly and easily as well as officially.) While I am certain that the Chair reads this list, and have written to her individually on occasion, my point is that there is no official way of contacting individual members of the board, especially those who do not wish to be contacted. Please update this list immediately,with information that is current and accurate and working, and put out a notice when you have done so. If you want an updated list of newly elected members of the LSB, please put out a call to those members for their preferred data.
