Thank you so much for setting us straight, Jonathan. I don't know what I was thinking! I mean, I used to imagine that reporters could serve a useful function by, you know... *reporting*. But I see now that I was mistaken. Not just mistaken, but basically deluded. Clearly, there's no need for such misguided & wasted efforts, when *you* could far more easily (and cheaply) provide the world with all the info & answers straight from your vast store of knowledge and enlightenment. No more guesswork! An endless supply of received wisdom, ours for the asking. Just think of all the money $$$ that could be saved if the news media just got rid of all their reporters, and came to you for the answers! Wow -- billion$ of dollars that could go to housing & health care! I shall forward this to that reporter so he can see what a silly oaf he is. In the long run, I'm quite sure he'll thank you for opening his eyes to the enormous waste of time & effort he's been expending. Yes, we are all in your debt, Jonathan. :) Regards, Craig To: NewPacifica@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, fulcrumsofchange@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx From: Jonathan Markowitz <democracywhere@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date sent: Tue, 1 Apr 2008 21:13:01 -0700 (GMT-07:00) Subject: [NewPacifica] Re: [Fulcrumsofchange] Rolling Stone: The Myth of the Surge Send reply to: NewPacifica@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Rolling Stone to the political rescue. Not. Not possible. There are no "Democrats" to reach in Congress on this policy. They back it 100% and nothing will change that. This is just more incomplete truth designed to characterize the "failure" of "the Administration's" Iraq policy. The fact is there's no failure about it. All of this was expected long before the invasion. The objective was, and still is, total political and social destabilization and fragmentation of Iraq into an all out civil war, while continuing to manipulate the American public into believing 'the enemy' exists. Nothing is sacred. Nothing is beyond consideration. This is a completely criminal enterprise and Congress is complicit. This is the work of the CIA and the only ones being deceived are American citizens. -----Original Message----- >From: CraigGingold <gingold@xxxxxxx> >Sent: Apr 1, 2008 6:04 PM >To: NewPacifica@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, Freekpfk@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, >fulcrumsofchange@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx, Bay_area_activist@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx >Subject: [Fulcrumsofchange] Rolling Stone: The Myth of the Surge > >This is the cover story article by the journalist who spoke with >Amy Goodman this morning on Democracy Now! > >This should be required reading for all politicians who still think maybe >-- if we just hang in there a little while longer -- maybe that will help >stabilize things -- and *then* we can let the Iraqis take over. > > >http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/18722376/the_myth_of_the_surge > >Rolling Stone > >The Myth of the Surge > >Hoping to turn enemies into allies, U.S. forces are arming Iraqis who fought >with >the insurgents.
