Their ongoing legal struggle has major rami. cations in the constitutional right of defendants to an impartial jury trial. A 10-min. video will also be shown. Speakers: Gloria La Riva is director of the National Committee to Free the Cuban Five, and president of the Typographical Sector of the Northern California Media Workers Union Lo. 39521 (CWA). She was co-editor of the book on Fidel Castro?s speeches, Cuba at the Crossroads (1997-Ocean Press), and produced the documentary videos NATO Targets, Workers? Democracy in Cuba (1996), and the award-winning Genocide by Sanctions: The case of Iraq (1998). Mara Verheyden-Hilliard, a constitutional rights attorney, is co-founder of the Partnership for Civil Justice (PCJ), Co-Chair of the National Lawyers Guild Mass Defense Committee, and serves on the Steering Committee of the ANSWER Coalition. Heidi Boghosian is executive director of the National Lawyers Guild and co-host of the radio show ?Law and Disorder.? The case of the Cuban Five is an organizational priority for the Guild and many of its attorneys who submitted amicus briefs on constitutional violations in their trial.
