If we don't do Labor right, we're never going to rebuild livable communities. As I told the board one time, I marched for KPFA from the Cal campus with students who admired the old labor songs, never having heard them before, but said they didn't like unions. When I told them people died for the eight hour day, they were surprised. I've also picked up a certain disdain for blue collar workers from the Left.
