Re: [NewPacifica] Free Speech TV Schedule - Afghan Stories

<sigh> I am truly sorry that I have to do this -- I'm sure Afghan Stories
really is a beautiful film, and well worth seeing, as Sasha says.

But I simply cannot in good conscience let people get sucked into subscribing
to DishNetwork without saying something about my atrocious experience.

I will spare folks most of the gruesome details. Suffice to say that, two
years ago, after being forced to move to a new location with extremely poor
reception, we signed on to Dish. While the picture quality was quite good,
we had endless problems with the equipment that they "gave" us as part
of the package -- worst of all, DVR's that failed, with hundreds of news
reports, etc. trapped on their hard drives. In the end, the tech support
people had no answers -- and when we refused to pay hundreds of
dollars for the defective equipment they had "given" us, they cut off
our signal, repeatedly -- even though we faithfully paid the monthly
service charges.

The final insult came from the bunch of upper-level SOB's who refused
to accept responsibility for *anything* -- much less acknowledge the
terrible problems that their defective equipment had caused.

So, I would not go back to DishNetwork if my life depended on it.

At least programs like Democracy Now! and Mosaic (Middle East News)
are available through their websites. Maybe this Afghan film can be
seen elsewhere, too.
