Well I guess this text at http://lists.gnac.net/mailman/listinfo/firewalls escaped your web-page rendering application. But, it's there: "To change your subscription (set options like digest and delivery modes, get a reminder of your password, or unsubscribe from Firewalls), enter your subscription email address:" Hmmm.. Something about visible and easily understood? I see it, and I understand it. I didn't try to actually do it, but perhaps you could? :) -----Original Message----- From: Drew Einhorn [mailto:drew.einhorn@starband.net] Sent: Friday, July 27, 2001 5:17 PM To: Firewalls@pluto.gnac.com; Tony Rall Subject: Re: Unsubscribe doesn't work? Interesting when I go to the URL at the very bottom of the footer, I find information about how to subscribe, how to change some options, but no mention of unsubscribing. Perhaps the web client I'm using at the moment is not rendering the page correctly, or perhaps the unsubscribe instructions are missing or hidden for some reason. There are problems that I need to see the full headers to resolve, and I do figure out the particular vulcan nerve pinch, gesture, or incantation required to display them for the mail client I happen to be using a the moment. This is the first list where I've come across user instructions buried in nonstandard headers that are usually suppressed by default. It would never have occurred to me to look there for unsubscribe instructions. And I wonder about the percentage of mail clients who may not understand the ?subject=blah blah clause of a mailto: tag. The instructions need to be visible and easily understood regardless of the clients used. _______________________________________________ Firewalls mailing list Firewalls@lists.gnac.net http://lists.gnac.net/mailman/listinfo/firewalls
