Re: SecuRemote can't remember the passwords

Title: RE: SecuRemote can't remember the passwords
Thank you very much.

I've tested it and found it should be like this,

  "c:\program file\check point\securemote\bin\fwenc.exe" -n USERNAME -p PASSWORD

There's still a problem when more than one sites are defined in one SecuRemote client.
If the usernames and passwords are the same for different sites, it'll be ok.
But if not, it seems no way to assign different usernames and passwords for the sites.

Any solution? :)

Winway,
The registry entry for fwenc.exe should be in  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
The entry should  say
c:\program file\check point\securemote\bin\fwenc.exe
you need to change this to "c:\program file\check point\securemote\bin\fwenc.exe -n USERNAME -p PASSWORD"
The path shown is the default but could be different is you installed to another location. The quotes are necessary because of the spaces in the path.
Hope this helps, let me know if it works or not. It has been months since I had to do this and I didn't write instructions done after I figured it out.
Mike

I've search the entire registry but can not find anything like switches about name or password.
Can you help me? Thanks.

There is a reg hack for secure remote on windows. I can't remember what the syntax is but it is in the registry for services where fwenc.exe is called. You can set switches for name and password there. Try a google search. I know this is possible because I have done it in the past but I just can't seem to remember the syntax.

In this case, I use SecuRemote for encryption rather than authentication.
So the security of the passwords is little important.
No way to make SecuRemote remember passwords after reboot?
